Harry Goddard is a bigoted British military man who has been taught from the beginning that Islam is evil and that Muslims are the enemy. During a secret Middle-East operation, a completely innocent Muslim woman is murdered by a man under his control whereafter Goddard’s conscience will not allow him to continue. When he tries to run away from his mental anguish by moving to Western Canada, he soon finds himself reluctantly involved with a Muslim brother and sister who have recently moved to Canada to escape the oppression in their homeland. The brother is gay and the sister is an artist who finds herself subject to unwanted marriage proposals from her fundamentalist cousin who has sponsored their move to Canada. The suitor’s abominable pre-marriage plans set off a series of actions that give rise to unexpected results.
A Multiple Award nominee, The Beekeeper puts bigotry on trial as a British Army Major navigates a reluctant relationship with an oppressed Muslim brother and sister. Laugh, cry, clap.
