Kathy Aoki’s work addresses gender and pop-culture issues through approachable visual formats with a twist of humor. This channel contains video work associated with Aoki's "Museum of Historical Makeovers," a futuristic museum that celebrates beauty and pop culture trends from the 1500's through the turn of the 4th millenium.

Aoki lives and works in the Silicon Valley where she is an Associate Professor of Studio Art at Santa Clara University. She is currently represented by Swarm Gallery in Oakland, California. Her work can be found in major collections across the U.S. such as the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Harvard University Art Museums.
