In April 2001 Sri Chinmoy gave a television interview at the location where the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team were organising a 6 and 10 day ultra race. Sri Chinmoy speaks about spirituality and self-transcendence, the importance of physical fitness and inner and outer satisfaction.
An ultramarathon or “ultra” is any running race over 26.2 miles. One of the longest races to date is the Sri Chinmoy 3100 Mile Race, where participants average as many as 74 miles per day. In the final part of the Seeker’s Journey we meet Shashanka Karlen, ultrarunner and member of the Sri Chinmoy Centre, who describes many of the experiences he has had running, inner and outer.
The Seeker’s Journey was conceived and produced by Sujantra McKeever.
