Holiday magic fills the air at the area cultural centers this month, with events for kids of all ages.
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra performs a festive program of seasonal hits, sacred hymns and popular favorites. The d-s-o’s “Christmas Celebration” takes place December 6 through 8 at the Meyerson Symphony Center.
Coming up at City Performance Hall … the Dallas Chamber Symphony performs live scores to silent films. Enjoy a trilogy of comedy classics featuring Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd. Works by Benjamin Britten and Johann Sebastian Bach are also on the program. The concert takes place Tuesday, November 19th at 8:00 p.m.
Virtuoso Arabella Steinbacher is the featured artist when the Dallas Symphony Orchestra performs “Braham’s Violin Concerto” at the Meyerson Symphony Center. Maestro Jaap Von Zweden leads the orchestra through the program, which also includes Braham’s “Symphony Number Three” and Benjamin Britten’s “Sinfonia de Requium.”
