A short test of the 5D3's capabilities at 60fps while shooting at 800mm. Not bad for a first clip at that focal length, but I'll need to unify the 5D3 body + lens onto a single plate and a steadier video head on my old monster Bogen tripod to get things smooth. (60fps, but really playing at 24fps, and looking normal speed)
This is a first attempt at a FCPX retiming using the Optical Flow method, and addition of a sauntering track to try to match the tempo. It's obvious I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, but I don't think it's half bad for a first time out with an 800mm lens. While it's not obvious to me anywhere in FCPX, I believe this is my 60fps playing back as 24fps video, so 2.5x slower than "normal".
NOW we're getting somewhere. I *think* that I know what FCPX is doing with its retiming now. This is retimed to 25fps, which should be the equivalent of 120fps. That's starting to really look like slomo!
