This week, we said goodbye to the last of the buildings known as the "Dogbones" or "Capehearts". The removal of the buildings that were once home to members of the Coast Guard, but had become dangerous eyesores, opens up dramatic views of the Statue of Liberty and clears the way for the creation of new ballfields and play lawns. The new park and public spaces are scheduled to be completed this fall.
