Graduate Film Project at Design Factory International 2011.
It's an animated short about an encounter with death.
Joe typically starts his day by enjoying his morning coffee at his favorite coffee shop.
But one day things seem to be different: the waitress seems to ignore Joe every time she walks by. Only because of the gentleman on the adjacent table does Joe get his coffee from now on. Who is this grim figure anyway? And why is he so insistent on Joe reading the newspaper?
A movie review show called 'MOVIE TALK' in which filmmaker Tim Hellman and guests review current movies and talk about their lives as they relate to the films. This episode we review the 2013 Oscar Nominated Animated Shorts (including 'PAPERMAN'). With guest critics Geno and Justin (my nephews).

The streets are paved with paper. This delicate animation follows the charming rise and fold of a fragile metropolis.
Captured by an unseen helicopter, the narrative unfolds through winding roads, erupting forests and emerging mountains.
Paper City grows in one fluid take, with skyscrapers rising from the page – only to crumble, wrinkle and gently crease back into the ground.
