↓ ↑ EXTINCT is a large-scale public artwork that raises the conscious awareness of the long-term effects of our actions as humans. ART; EDUCATION; ACTION.
EXTINCT is a large-scale public artwork that raises provoking thought & action to solutions using the current poaching issue and threat of the Rhinoceros as THE VOICE for beasts, birds, fish and conservation alike. It will raise the conscious awareness of the long-term effects of our actions as humans. The viewer is able to walk amongst a CRASH of the majestic life size replicas of the beasts and
feel a sense of abundance, a concept that is alien to our reality. The title and work create a sense of disturbing awe, as the viewer is forced come to terms with both the magnificence and the fragility of life.
Extinct is a collaborative, interactive and inclusive Artwork.

‘Little Moon Monsters’,
Bizarrre and strangely beautiful creatures created from the pickings of waste dumps in Cape Town’s Nyanga township. Ten teenagers joined renowned Berlin urban artist MYMO in an upcycling art workshop to produce truly mixed-media sculptures. All sales proceeds go to SHAWCO's Little Moon Literacy Program for children ages 5-7, to help them get into Nyanga primary school.
