This is a showreel for anyone interested in how I construct the music for a variety of scenes in feature film and television. I've allowed whole scenes to play out rather than just show an excerpt. It's around 16 minutes long, which won't be for everyone, however for those interested, it will give a good insight into how I approach my craft, how I try and work with the director's vision for his/her film, and also showing a variety of moods. emotions and styles which work within the films' parameters.
Pre-Title Sequence from this landmark SBS series (3x52min) produced by Renegade Factual and directed by Jacob Hickey.
It's a massive industry that stops for no-one and I tried to reflect that in the themes associated with the industry. Largely narration driven meant that the film required a lot of music. They recorded one of the massive iron ore trains passing on a track during the shoot and when they played me the sound I immediately wanted to base the main theme upon this rhythm and include the sound itself as part of the orchestral percussion layers.
