  1. Most of this audio was recorded when trying to decrypt and downlink a pay per view fight at work. It was coming in RF on a Ku2 satellite and was heavily biss encrypted. Each element of the biss. code that was put in the audio would change and get different bands from that same bird.

I found that interesting as well as the video feeding back scopes for some reason. much of the green lines that you may see going across the screen periodically are vector scope and waveform monitor lines which I still cannot figure out why they fed back the way they did. At any rate this was one of my first attempts at audio ad this was just something fun to play around with.

(turns out I had the parabolic function disabled on the satellite dish hence the name).

I’m not playing is an audiovisual performance that talks about the relationship between the videogame medium and the culture of simulation in the digital era.
Through the years, videogames have influenced our perception of space/time and our concept of identity, and we have now reached a point where real and virtual worlds are merging their borders. In this process, the videogame as a container of ideological power cannot be underestimated. I’m not playing addresses all this through a war videogame played every day by millions of people: COD4.

  4. A voice in control, an image in black and white. An aseptic, scientific environment, similar to the object on the foreground.
The main characters in this work by Marcantonio Lunardi are three small worms which fight in order to avoid falling down a vial placed below them.
However, they are not alone, as there is also the strong, charismatic voice of a politician who has been omnipresent on the parliamentary life in Italy for the past twenty years: Silvio Berlusconi.
The artist has chosen not to show his face. His voice, his discourse is all that remains. The delay between what is heard and what is seen creates a short circuit which helps us in understanding the meaning of what the politician is saying; the animal, thus, become a metaphor for the Italian people.
"Laboratoire Italie" is the strong image of a Country that struggles against an economic but mostly moral crisis where art seems to be the only way to assert disagreement.

  5. This video was made in my third year of a degree in fine art Sculpture and Combined Media in Limerick School of Art and Design. In this video I am exploring themes of cultural identity, anxiety and the subjectivity of memory, using domestic objects to create a highly charged environment.
