Family-run business Kelly’s of Cornwall has been working with Working Links for a number of years – not only to recruit new staff, but to train them too.
Operations manager Paul Harrold said: “Working Links gave us the opportunity to come and talk to potential candidates to see if they were interested in joining our team and we have been very impressed with the quality of the people they put forward. If we need to recruit more people, we’ll definitely be doing it through Working Links.”
Many Working Links customers have found work at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow. The two organisations have worked closely together for a number of years to provide opportunities for long-term unemployed people to get back into work in back and front of house roles in the hospitality industry.
Getting people with the right attitude is the key for Radisson Blu, and Working Links’ dedicated employer services team has done that consistently over the years.
Working Links shapes the way it works to the needs of employers. AC Landscapes works with Working Links to recruit manual workers but needs to know they’re good enough before they start working – this is where work trials are important.
Work trials give the employer and candidate a good opportunity to show what the job would be like, and to see if the candidate is a good fit for the role.
AC Landscapes’ CEO Ben Cockcroft said: “People we get through Working Links actually want to work.”
