1. This video was put together some time ago by my good friend and fellow UCD Innovation student, Paul Shorten and myself, Eimear Farrell. It is by no means a completed finish but it tells a beautiful, yet powerful story of how the senses of somebody with Alzheimer's can be evoked...but only if awoken.

    The persian philosopher Aviceena and the story of 'The Floating Man' came to mind when putting this video together and the comparison that was made between some older people with Alzheimer's living in residential care, spending their days sitting in the same chair, facing the same wall or person; some with their heads hanging down towards the floor, their senses completely unengaged. Their senses almost submerged, like an underwater sensation.

    The video depicts that scene almost in the opening few slides. Only when their senses are evoked through the power of art and nature, do you see life coming through them again. Almost like an awakening!!! The senses...are once again alive.
