I was driving through New Mexico and there was an intense electric storm, the sky was really dark and just by the side of the road there was an evangelical tent show...in that moment the second verse of Dylan's 'Blind Willie McTell' hit me: 'I heard that hoot owl singing as they were taking down the tents | the stars above the barren trees were his only audience'. Just in that moment there was a whole connection for me…Dylan paints the reality of a certain kind of America and that song opened doors for me.
