1. Hāloa. (pronounced: Haa-lo-ah) tells the story of how the first Hawaiian came to be and how the Hawaiian peoples bond is forever linked to the Kalo (taro) plant, the Aina (land), and the Kanaka (people). Hāloa is a short animated film produced by Twiddle Productions in Honolulu Hawaii, and is brought to life with a unique blend of animation, Hawaiian chants, and Hawaiian language.

  3. “HITA: Hinanao-ñiha I Taotåo-ta Åntes”, Meaning: Our way of life long ago. HITA is a historic and unique new project that blends Chamorro Culture, Language, Art, Animation, and Student Participation. The culmination of these important elements being the creation of the first Chamoru language animated film titled
    “ Maisa, the Chamoru Girl who Saves Guåhan” which mixes live action, cgi, and 2d animated components to create a visually rich and exciting version of the classic Chamoru tale of “The Maidens that saved Guam”.

    GDOE students participated in both the voice over and creation of key art for the production, while local actors and actresses worked side by side with Twiddle and Kahmeleon Productions in Guam for the filming of the live action segments.

  4. The Chamorro creation story of Puntan and Fu‘una as told by HITA Cultural Advisor Toni Ramirez to Student Artists during the Talk Story session of the Haligi: Cultural Animation Art Program. Toni shares and talks about a little known version of the creation story which focuses more on Fu‘una. It's important to know and hear that there are variations of cultural stories even well known ones. The Haligi Student Artists are currently working on creating art for the Puntan version of this story which will be paired with the animated film "Maisa: The Chamorro Girl who Saves Guahan".

The Haligi Cultural Animation Art Program is designed to give Guam DOE art students the opportunity to work side by side professional artists from Twiddle Productions Inc. a Honolulu based animation and game production company. The Haligi Twiddle roster of artists include veteran Animator/ Producer/Director Michael Q. Ceballos, Concept Artist/ Storyboard Artist/ Animator Mathew Kawika Ortiz, and Independent Filmmaker/ Producer Chadwick Shimomura.
    Students who participates in the program will create background art that will be used in the Chamorro Studies Special Projects divison production of HITA: Maisa, the Chamorro Girl who saved Guahan.
