Congratulations to James W Griffiths for his BAFTA award for Short Film for Room 8.
Room 8 is one of five films based on the same script that formed part of Bombay Sapphire Imagination Series 2012.
The Bombay Sapphire Imagination Series seeks to spark the imagination. We asked Oscar winning writer Geoffrey Fletcher, to write a short script stripped of any stage direction. The five most imaginative film entries were picked, produced and premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2013.
This video tells the story of how my first novel came into being, and how you can help take it from the page to make a difference in Haiti. All net proceeds are donated to aid and equip Haitians for a better tomorrow.

New paranormal thriller novel BREAKING CURSED BONDS filled with mystery and sprinkled with history & romance. Available now at Amazon in eBook and paperback. This story is for the reader who likes the bizarre, a real spiritual and emotional scare, and a chance to learn about some old deeds with new insight. If you ever 'felt' someone or something, looming over your fate, you'll understand Emilie's dilemma. You too could have cursed bonds too.
A family is cursed for centuries. An ancient journal, discovered by chance, unfolds the source of the lethal legacy. It tells stories of French Seamen, Florida Tribes and Ancient Ceremonies.
Emilie and Jeremy cross paths and their lives become intertwined. Together they use the old journal to find a way to end the cursed bonds. They go to extreme lengths to save the De Gourgues’ legacy. They travel from Memphis to Florida, and then to France, and dig up old bones to destroy the remnants of the family curse. An ancient Timucuan ceremony is enacted to finally end the spirit bond that torments Emilie’s father, Pierre. There are more than just curses that haunt the family. Some scars cannot be healed. The trauma of their mother’s death when they were young, forever shapes the lives of the family. Their struggle with the painful memory leads them down lonely paths.
Emilie also struggles with her own curse, her clairvoyant nature. She is endowed with the gift of empathy, which becomes uncontrollable when she is bombarded with extreme emotional anguish. She must deal with her eccentric family, and their sordid destructive affairs. Will they survive each other? Will Emilie and Jeremy keep their love for each other alive?
When we asked you to return to the finish line, a place that changed your lives, we knew it wouldn’t be easy.
You told us some days are harder than others, but that it’s okay to have bad days. Mostly, you told us about the goodness of others. Colleagues babysat, school kids sent you notes and neighbors cooked you dinner.
What happened that day was terror.
And terror happens when love is absent.
Boston is a city of love stories, now.
As you heal, know you inspire the rest of us to be better, still.
