Blue Eye FX Production Media Courses

  1. On the first day of the Blue Eye FX Productions Media course . . Jonny and Phil where blowing bubbles whilst Debs drifted above and played with the Manta.

This was just a few short steps off the shore at Four Seasons resort Sharm el Sheikh and up-close and very personal.

What more could you ask for !

  2. Day 1 and 2 of the Blue Eye FX Underwater production course. If someone had told me I would be filming a manta ray about 15m from shore on a house reef within 24 hours of landing in Egypt I would have thought they were barking mad! But that's the way it was! First time for me using a pro spec camera and housing and my inexperience shows!

However, two beautiful dives on a pristine reef, let down only by a worrying amount of plastic debris which is becoming a depressingly familiar picture along so many of our coasts; more than once I thought plastic bags were jellyfish (of which there were plenty) - if its possible for us to get confused between jellyfish and plastic bags underwater, its no wonder so many species of marine life are increasingly ingesting this non-biodegradable junk we dump into our oceans seemingly without any concern.

  3. Today we moved from the Four Seasons house reef out to the Tiran Straits for some diving and filming on Jackson Reef. What a dive! So many fish that I didn't know where to point the camera, vibrant colours everywhere and the largest turtle I have ever seen! A breathtaking dive on a beautiful reef; it doesn't get much better!

  4. Day four of the Blue Eye FX underwater Filming and Production course and proof that pride comes before a fall! Off we head to Marsabreaka so that I can practice my new found skills with rather more confidence than three days ago. Beautiful scenery underwater, lots of colour, lots of action, but back in the editing I gave up on the edits after about 4 hours. I had made the mistake of not thinking of the 'story' of the footage when filming, so what you see here is the end result: a not very interesting underwater slideshow, rather than a captivating film sequence! Lesson learned!

  5. Day five of the Blue Eye FX Underwater filming and Production course and after yesterday's aborted film editing, I went in the water with much more of a 'story' in mind and I hope it shows in this edited footage! Thanks to my dive buddy Jon for starring and helping to make it a great dive!
