I created this animation for the exhibition "D-Day 1944" at the Everhart Museum, Scranton, PA. It is installed projecting on a wall in the gallery space, on a continual loop cycle.

180 watercolor paintings assembled to create a 40 second animation
The animation is based on film footage taken of American paratroopers jumping from planes during the D-Day invasion. It was made by painting frames from a 40 second clip of film one frame at a time in watercolor, leaving out any background information such as horizon and landscape.
