  1. The massive withdrawal of international aid to refugees living in camps on the Thai Burma has created huge challenges for the people. After 30 years of support for the refugees from Burma international aid has been relocated to projects within the country. Camp residents observed World Refugees Days on June 20th to call on international aid organizations to continue to support them.

  3. The IDPs return home with dignity and safety?
    Currently, The Burma Army operation in Mu Traw district violates the Nation-wide Cease Agreement and has recently displace more than 2,000 villagers from their homes. These displaced villagers feel unsafe and receive threat. They feel there is no guarantee for their safety and security and many political problems are unresolved.

  4. This year, 85 new teachers have graduated from Karen Teacher Training Collages. Karen rural communities are hopeful the new graduates will help improve the education standards in their area. The new graduates came through a program initiated by a coalition of Karen education groups including; the Karen Education Department and Karen Teachers Working Group and the Karen Teacher Training Colleges.

  5. 93 refugees were officially received by the Burmese authorities at the Mae Sot-Myawaddy border gate in Karen State and Meisei gate in Kayah (Karenni) State
    on May 7, 2018. This is the second group of refugees to return under the arrangement of both Governments and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
