Shot this while I was in Tibet during my solo cycling journey crossing half of Asia from Chengdu, China to Kyrgyzstan passing through Lower Himalaya, Tibetan Plateau, Qinghai Plateau, Kunlun Mountains, Tian Shan Mountains, Pamir Mountains and the deadly Taklamakan Desert. The distance I covered on that cycling journey was over 7000km.
The video was shot with Canon 550D with only kit lense 18-105mm, but too bad my lense was dirty. Also it was handheld resulting in undesirable shaking motion.
This bicycle was custom made by OrangeCycle, a bicycle shop based in Taman Sri Manja, off Jalan Kelang Lama. Please check out their blog, orangecycle.blogspot.com for more info. It's a mountain bike modified into a very strong touring bike and will be used by me on my expedition to cycle around the world starting in June 2012, where I will start by riding in the land of fire and ice. Stay tuned! :)
This film was shot in my homesoil in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, 2 days before my departure to Iceland. I was packing all my stuff on my bike and test to ride it one last time to make sure everything is ready! I'm carrying roughly around 50kg of luggage this time!
A draft edit video on my first hour after arriving in Iceland. This video was shot around midnight (Iceland time) but it was not hard for me to get around as the night is as bright as day due to the Midnight Sun!
Starting from the Keflavik International Airport, i made my way to Reykjavik. With the temperature hovering at 10 degrees Celsius and breathtaking landscape as the backdrop, it was a very very pleasant ride.
Stay tuned for more videos. Follow and read more about my expedition on twitter @ZaharizK, @ZfilmsNews and at zahariz.wordpress.com
After a few days of exploring the wild and not talking to anyone since I left Reykjavik, as expected I started talking to animals! Check out these sexy and exotic Icelandic horses, the very special breed! :)
