Three minutes of the best flying clips of touring around the West Coast in a Cessna 210. The "swivel shots" where done with a motor mount under the wing controlled by a micro-controller and a remote control, while the GoPro camera uses its own remote control.
I designed a remote controlled motor driven wing mount for a GoPro camera and tested it while flying to Friday Harbor in the San Juan islands.
Seems rather decadent to fly to Friday Harbor for tea and play with my GoPro, but I had business in Bellingham the day before, and needed to fly home. So instead of flying directly home, I headed out to Friday Harbor, was able to get some email and calls done at Friday Harbor, and then I flew home to California in the afternoon. So decadent, but not rather decadent.
I realized when I hit 100 posts on my flying blog this year that a combination of a Cessna 210, 15 years, and a passion for the outdoors has led to over 100 Adventures. The adventures include climbing, backpacking, rafting, caving, canyoneering, whale watching, camping, biking and just plain flying in spectacular country.
