Eradicating extreme poverty is the first of the eight MDGs (Millennium Development Goals) that UN member states have committed to achieve by 2015. Substantial gains have been made for this goal, for instance in 2010, the global poverty rate has already fallen to less than half of the proportion of poor estimated in 1990.
Arturo (Art) Martinez is a PhD student at the Institute for Social Science Research, under the supervision of Professor Western, Professor Haynes and Dr.Tomaszewski. His doctoral thesis explores statistical methods for measuring income mobility with and without panel data.
