The 'School for Wayward Girls' is an institution from a (not-too-distant) time when the state (and religious bodies) had more power to interfere in people's lives. Young girls who fell outside society's narrow boundaries of acceptable behaviour, and lacked the protection of a functioning family unit, were taken in by nuns whose aim was to get them on the right path (through hard labour and prayer). Nowadays we'd call them sluts and send them off to Brat Camp with a reality tv crew (and in six months do a short segment updating their progress).

My first shortfilm as a director. It's called "Mazel", which means in hebrew "Luck", although it can be a bad luck.
Shot in Toledo and Madrid in 2007 (DV 16/9), with a 100% beginner team. They made great efforts! Also thanks to Allyana who helped me with the subtitles in English.
(If you have a woofer on your speakers, you should desactive it because the sound is pretty bad due to microphone problems)

This is a rough cut of a powerful short film. The soundtrack is temp, the audio is unmixed and contains only the radio mics not the boom tracks. The title is also one made up by me as it currently is untitled. It needs tidying up and tightening. I can only keep this up for a short while after that I will replace it with the trailer. We want to show people like you guys the film first in its rough form then withdraw it before we release it properly.
Please treat it as a work in progress. This is my first proper short drama that I have worked on.
Shot using the Sony EX1 and Letus Extreme in 1080p 25p. Lenses used 17-35mm f2.8 nikon, 50mm Zeiss f1.4, 85mm Zeiss f1.4, 100mm f.2 Zeiss Macro. No follow focs. All hand pulled. Monitor used was Marshall. Track and Dolly was the Wally Dolly.
Edited on a 17" MacBook Pro, graded using Magic Bullet looks (temp grade).
We shot this all in a little over 6 hours!
The film is just under 14 minutes long and is a big file so be patient.Uploaded 7,003 Plays 178 Likes 77 Comments
Barackula is a short political horror rock musical about young Barack Obama having to stave off a secret society of vampires at Harvard when he was inducted into presidency at the Harvard Law Review in 1990. Obama (Justin Sherman) finds that he must convince the vampire society that opposing political philosophies can coexist or else the society may transform Obama to the dark side. Reminiscent to Michael Jackson's Thriller and a slight infusion of Jesus Christ Superstar, the film solely depicts Obama's strengths, merits and genuineness while being quietly respectful towards the other presidential candidates.
