Kris Gilbertson's Lifestyle Entrepreneur Expert Angela Giles shares in this interview:
Financially, Angela Giles, How to Get 15,000 Twitter Followers in Less than 60 Days expert had everything going for her. Working as an IT manager, Angela was making six figures, but she got tired of never seeing her two children working 14-hour days, so she quit. Her new job running a daycare helped Angela make ends meet so she could begin working online. A natural networker and a computer whiz, Angela found her calling in the world of social media marketing and teamed up with Suzanne Duret on Showcasing Women, a one-stop-shop information center for women in business and female entrepreneurs.
Angela specializes in understanding Twitter and has transitioned her knowledge about generating leads on eBay to a new medium. As simple as it sounds, Angela's primary piece of advice is to keep it professional. And to use important keywords in your Twitter bio to make you more searchable. "If you're a speaker, put 'speaker,'" Angela said. "If you're from Toronto and you have a pizza restaurant, you put 'pizza restaurant in Toronto.' Put everything you can out there about yourself."
Like any social media platform, Twitter is all about building relationships. Angela talks about how to effectively get started on social media and begin to build these important relationships within your niche as a way to help your business get off the ground. Find influential people in your niche, she advises, and interact with them—retweet their content, message them, etc.—as much as possible to get your name out there. Odds are that they'll take notice and follow you back. These relationships are essential to establishing trust with the people you interact with online. "It takes on average about seven times for you to engage with someone before they'll purchase from you," Angela says, so patience and consistent contact is an important part of a successful Twitter marketing plan.
Another key element of being successful on Twitter is knowing where your audience is. They may not always be in your time zone, so it is important to know where they are so you can automate your tweets to go out during peak time in those areas—5 to 9 PM.
Having had her own myriad of struggles along the way (including a house fire!), Angela understands the trials and tribulations of being an entrepreneur and a woman in business. "Believe. In. Yourself," Angela says. "Don't get too scattered. Pick one thing. Implement. Research. Implement." It's her passion for helping women become the best businesswomen they can be that has made Angela and Showcasing Women such a success.
