The Funny Women Show is an improvisational sketch production conceived by a group of talented individuals from the theater department at the University of Florida. Here you will see women (and a few men) take on variety characters, including those that are international, vulgar, awkward, and downright hilarious.
I was tasked (as a favor to my friend starring in the show) with the duty of filming the performance as an audience member.
The footage was shot with my Canon Vixia and edited on Final Cut Pro.
Caution: While watching this video do not attempt to consume food or beverage as you may end up choking on it due to laughter.
Written by Blair Erich, "Intervention," is a sketch about a guy who gets cornered by his roommates for not participating full-heartedly in household activities that symbolize the brotherhood of their apartment. Emotions run wild and tension builds between roomies as they face a decision that could dismantle their friendship forever.
Equally sketchy is the shooting and editing by Carla Ramirez.
Performed during Liquid Courage at the Upright Citizens Brigade of New York City, October 2013.
"Happy Thought" is a comedy sketch written by Blair Erich based on the Disney documentary "Peter Pan." When youth-obsessed Peter Pan swings by the Darling family's home to kidnap Wendy, John, and Michael for their annual flying lesson, he gets more than he bargained for. The group quickly discovers that Michael, the youngest Darling, is no stranger to "happy" thoughts and has perhaps been spending too much time on the Internet. Will they ever get to Neverland?
