This was such a ridiculously amazing wedding! Without question, one of my favorite shoots to date. First, Katie and Derek are freakin' rockstars. No, wait. They're gorgeous and wickedly-fun freakin' rockstars. Then, I get to work with some of the best professionals in the industry like Cameron Ingalls, Sarah Angelique, Ricardo at Elegant Details and Sean at AMS. To top it all off, it was held at the Monarch Club in Nipomo - a place you have to see to truly believe. From the rock waterfalls to the see-through floors to the rolling greens and eucalyptus trees, this place had it going on! Below is the trailer from their day... it's a slight deviation from our more traditional style, but it's quickly becoming one of my very favorites. Enjoy!
Kristen Odenwald from Jour Parfait originally contacted me regarding Kristine and Simon's wedding. They unfortunately had family that was unable to attend and wanted to stream the ceremony live. This is a service we've offered for a while now and we were happy to help! But, as often happens in life, another obstacle presented itself. With only days until the wedding, Simon discovered that the venue would not have WIFI available for the streaming of the ceremony. Bummer. Not being one to accept defeat, we arranged a same-day edit of the highlights of their day. I was able to post this clip the night of the ceremony so Kristine and Simon's friends and family could share in every special moment. In fact, having many of Simon's family members in England worked to our benefit. As I was posting the footage at around one o'clock in the morning, people were just getting started with their day in Old Blighty!
Panacea handled the floral arrangements and Catering Unlimited, Inc. put together a phenomenal dinner. All in all, this was truly an amazing day! I hope you enjoy getting to share in Kristine and Simon's incredibly beautiful wedding!
Summer first contacted me in September 2008. We exchanged a few emails but couldn't meet up until October because she was living in Orange County at the time. Summer and her fiancé, Chris, managed to make their way up for the Fall Bridal Faire put on by Central Coast Bride, and it was there when we were finally able to iron out some of the details of the day.
I had already suspected that these two were ambitious, but I had no idea how much of an understatement "ambitious" would be. Get this. From there, they took off to the Dominican Republic to build a night club called Webster Hall. Apparently there's been one in New York for over 100 years, so this was a pretty huge step in Chris' career! They spent a couple months down there and returned, ready to continue on in wedding preparations.
Whether they were aware of it at the time or not, Summer and Chris assembled an amazingly talented group of professionals. Jen Hocker arranged the flowers and kept things rolling smoothly all day, while Melissa from Kramer Entertainment kept the music hot and people moving on the dance floor.
Villa de Buena Vista is a jaw-dropping venue located in the wine country of Paso Robles, CA and where Summer and Chris decided to say, "I do." Picture blue skies, fluorescent green grass and acres of vineyards drenched in the summer sun and you're just getting started.
When I showed up on the day of the wedding, I had no idea how mind-blowing the day was going to be. Summer, Chris and their friends and family were awesome!!! From the wicked-sick footage we landed in the convertible to Chris' reaction after seeing Summer for the first time as she walked down the aisle, the day freakin' rocked. The only problem I had was figuring out how to get so much good stuff into a single trailer. One way or another I managed and this was the end result. Enjoy!
