1. The Canon EOS 70D is a mid-range DSLR for enthusiasts that is a desirable upgrade from the EOS 60D. It borrows many of the best parts of existing Canon SLRS, including the autofocus sensor from the EOS 7D, the fully articulated touchscreen from the Rebel T5i, and built-in Wi-Fi from the EOS 6D. But on the inside it sports a new 20.2MP Dual Pixel CMOS AF that essentially allows phase detection autofocus in live view and movie mode even in the lowest lighting settings!

To make filming easier, the 70D adopted the vari-angle design of the Rebel T5i and added touchscreen capabilities for efficient navigation of menues. The 70D offers HD video capture at 1080p resolution at 30/25/24 fps or at 720p at 60/50fps. Using the brand new Dual Pixel CMOS AF and the touchscreen LCD, selecting and focusing in on your subject while videoing has never been easier! Easily control Rack Focus (moving from one object in the front being in focus to an object in the back) simply by touching objects on the LCD screen. Exposure can either be set and adjusted manually or left automatically for the camera to control. The overall results produce smooth and fluid video. The high level of control afforded over shutter speed, aperture and frame rate allows you to get the "look" you're after. The Canon EOS 70D will give you much more control to produce shallow depth-of-field in this respect than most movie cameras on the market. The 70D has a microphone input port that allows you to dramatically increase your audio capabilities with the Azden SMX-20 DSLR microphone. Just like the 5D Mark II the 70D offers the ability to manually control the recording volume. Throw in a 64GB SDHC card and some extra batteries and you'll be able to film all day long.

It offers 20.2MP resolution, but uses a 'Dual Pixel CMOS AF' design in which every single pixel is split into two separately-readable photodiodes, facing left and right. This means that in principle they are all capable of phase detection autofocus in live view and movie mode. The 70D also features Canon's DIGIC 5+ Image Processor and you'll enjoy the benefits of fast shooting speeds as well as in-camera HDR image processing. The Canon 70D inherits the large, bright 3.0" 1,040k-dot vari-angle Clear View II touchscreen LCD Monitor. The 70D features a 19-point All Cross-Type AF system that delivers an advanced level of accuracy for stunning results even in difficult lighting situations. With a speedy autofocus, minimal shutter lag, and the ability to shoot 7 fps, the EOS 70D is made for the outdoor videographer to capture rapidly-occuring scenes with stunning precision.
