A recent trip to Burning Man 2013 Cargo Cult with our camp OFOSHO (located @ 4:30 and E)
This idea was shot 99% hand held with a Panasonic GH3 and kit lenses 14-140mm F4.0 and a 50mm F1.8. Some of the night shots were shot with a 5D MK iii with a 50mm prime.
Shooting in Burning Man conditions proved extremely difficult. I was hoping to shoot using a tripod but I had to switch plans to a minimal gear as I was on a bike the whole time in hot, extremely dusty conditions. The dust storms were the hardest! I sacrificed my 7-14mm Lumix lens in the process (scratched beyond repair).
It's an all amateur cast including myself! My good friend and camp OFOSHO member Javid did the scenes pre and post festival and tolerated my fickle attempts at implementing a vision.
I hope you enjoy this film and the Burning Man spirit.
Illuminating the culture of Burning Man – the annual pilgrimage to Nevada's Black Rock Desert – as a catalyst for community, innovation and the actualization of dreams, this film offers a glimpse into the art and culture of this dynamic community with the hope to spark a dream within you.
