This summer I had the privilege of filming my dear friend, Kurtis Wright. Kurtis is incredibly talented, and it was a joy to film (and learn) alongside him this summer. This is the last video we filmed, and the first of the "Kurtis video" instalments...it's also my favourite.
Another beautiful song by Kurtis Wright. This video sort of just happened. We had slight plans and ideas for it, but when it actually happened (pretty spur of the moment), it became something so much more than I could have hoped for. Joined by many wonderful friends, this was one of the most incredible of nights.
Kurtis was joined by Jordan Wright and Dan Zepick, amazing friends and musicians.
As you know, we Rogers have joined YFC/Youth Unlimited on an exciting adventure to launch a Red Deer base this fall. May has been our first month on the job and has been full month of fundraising and getting to know people in the community. We still have a long way to go with fundraising but are trusting the Lord to lead us and provide the much needed monthly financial and prayer partners. God is amazing! And we are so stoked to be apart of his plans for central Alberta.
This little original song is just a way to say thanks to those who have already committed to partner with us on a monthly basis (so after this month watch your in boxes for monthly tunes, worship sets and updates along with a free album at the end of a year). THANK YOU! For believing in us and supporting us. It's very humbling, but so encouraging to know you are with us on this journey. May God bless you richly!
Thank you so much for being such an important part in this journey, you have no idea how good it feels to have such amazing people behind you. July has been super busy mainly with fundraising and just plain old work, and i just have to say thank you again (I'll probably say thank you a lot) to those who decided to financially partner this past month. It is such a huge encouragement and it is so humbling in the best of ways.
God has been so good to us as a family and is totally providing as step out, we still have a ways to go in fundraising but we are so encouraged when we look back at those with us . Next month brings speaking engagements, house/ church and community parties, and set up for the city wide day of prayer in Red Deer! I cant wait!
I have included a little song written a few years ago when apart of the band Doubting Paris, I do hope you enjoy these little songs.
June has been an incredible month. This month we had our first information night, met with a Red Deer city counsellor as well as helped run the annual Youth Unlimited golf tournament in Ponoka. Needless to say it has been a busy month :)
On June 8th we had our first information night, the turn out was a smaller than expected, however we had great time of fellowship and were able to share allot about the history of YFC Youth Unlimited in Red Deer as well as share our hearts for the future.
My partner in Christ Chad Verity, has already started his mission as campus life director by volunteering his time with the Hunting Hills football team. Chad is a wonderful guy with a strong heart for the youth of the city and it is a joy to be able to work with him.
Just this past week Chad and myself were able to meet with a Red Deer City counsellor. This meeting was set up so that we, as an organisation, can introduce ourselves to the city as well as get a city perspective on the immediate needs facing the youth and young people of Red Deer. It was both informative and heart breaking at the same time to hear about so many issues. Red Deer needs Jesus.
I am excited to be apart of what God has in store for this city and this region, and I look forward to seeing him turn a generation back to him.
Things to pray for:
-Finances, we still have a long way to go with fundraising
-unity and favour within the churches
-Wisdom as we start to set up shop, where and what does it look like
-that this city would feel a call to prayer and humility.
Thanks again for your prayers, support and for being apart of Impacting a region.
