I researched class divide and oppression of freedom of speech in Ethiopia for a university project involving environment design. In the end I chose to focus on the messages portrayed in the music of Teddy Afro, and how I could represent these messages digitally. The resulting scene features a Westernised courtyard, housing typical East African flora. On closer inspection, a small corridor can be found and explored further.
A closer look at the corridor in my UDK environment which features a flashing lightbulb. All models were created in Maya, the flashing material was created using UDK (emissive texture on a random timer, hence the flashing!). Technically the reflections should be flashing at the same time, but I think due to framerate issues it was bugging out a little!
