N1 is a program of applied clinical research aimed at supporting the delivery of evidence-based treatments and supports to children, adolescents, and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.

In research, ‘n’ refers to the number of participants in a particular study. We believe that the best way to move the field forward is to consider the needs and outcomes for each individual person and family, hence the name N1.

This training package provides a first step for allied health professionals and educators who work with individuals with developmental disability and their families to work with us to promote evidence-based practice. Specifically, the package is designed to teach clinicians how to evaluate client outcomes using Single Case Experimental Designs (also known as N1 designs).

This package has been developed with the support of speech pathologists, Physiotherapists, and Occupational Therapists on Developmental Disability (SPOTonDD) and the La Trobe University eResearch Office.
