It is a reflection on the memory of faces and on the possible futures generated in every experience, a sensory piece which locates the action in an indeterminate time and space. The face is seen as containing or documenting our very existence. Although the viewer’s first impression is of digital manipulation, FAKEless makes no use of any kind of artifice or performative tool. It attempts to bring us close to the most intimate emotion generated by the slow, subtle movement the performers themselves produce during the action, avoiding any kind of technological process such as slow motion or still images.
The installation consists of a total of fourteen black and white portraits projected from the ceiling to the floor. The ages of the performers selected by the artist, all male, range from seven to eighty. Two of them are a composition of portraits of the artist himself. All the performers are dressed the same and are filmed with the same background, lending the installation chromatic and visual unity. On entering Space 1 at La Conservera viewers are invited to walk through a kind of labyrinth in which these projections are hidden behind small concrete walls.

IGNITION is a serie of LAB's created during a week, four hour a day with professionals and non professionals performers selected from the city where is happened, It had take place since 2012 in cities like Seville, Blanca. Barcelona, Berlin, Riga
The LAB is focused on the perception of the body shown in different states (immobile, in a permanent movement, in speaking, in social / private moments). Starting from the idea of “Ignition” Hurtado studied the approach to the physical consequences or before the occurrence of a particular physical or emotional situation that is directly connected with frustration, brutality, explosion, euphoria, anger or claim. The focus is on the analysis of desolation or the collateral damage inherent in the body just after one of the events mentioned. A glowing body leads us to the next action / emotion.
IGNITION LAB | BARCELONA | 21st September 2013 | Espai Erre
Deficiencies in orthodox thinking correspond to the demands of a society increasingly frustrating. Dissatisfaction with life becomes distrust against the official lies that serve to justify these conditions of existence, this distrust, allows him self a more faithful outline of the development of mankind. Thoroughly explained the resignation and submission that characterize modern life by the characteristics of human nature. Also, the limit of our pre-civilized existence, made of privation, of brutality and ignorance that eventually bring up the authority as a benefit that saves us from savagery. Still invokes the caveman and the Neanderthal man to tell us where we would be without religion, the state and forced work “
The reasons for fear and despair will only multiply if we remain in this brutal and dangerous state of civilization”
