I posted this a loooong time ago on the Pencil Test Depot. This is a better quality version. I saw that it has been ripped from the PTD in a few areas and it doesnt do Glen's work justice, so here is a version you can really enjoy
This is Ariel pencil test from the well-known part in which she sings "Part of your world". At this passage, the line is: "What's a fire? And why does it (What's the word?) Burn! When is my turn?" I'm also studying the lip sync. I've never imagined that Phonology wold help me at this!
Only Keys and the Breakdowns, but a lot of things are apparent. Changing shapes, dynamic lines of action, body language, overlapping action, and of course: appeal. At this stage, the scene could be handed to a (skilled) assistant to add just rough inbetweens.
I found these scans at http://theartofglenkeane.blogspot.com/
P.S: the timing is slightly different than from the final shot.
-This video was created for a class I was teaching. It shows some of my process when creating a shot. The steps show what we receive from layout, the thoughts behind ref & planning, blocking, and taking the shot all the way to final
