Vida Ipektchi (b.1988 Iran /Germany) completed her study program Fashion Styling at Istituto Marangoni in Paris in 2012. Vida has worked as an assisting fashion stylist for several magazines during her 3-year stay in Paris, and was introduced to the fashion industry through working on fashion shows for internationally renowned designers such as Issey Miyake or John Galliano. Through this she received a deep insight in the world of fashion, but discovered that she was missing deeper knowledge about the origin of garment production. After conducting her own research, she felt that the beauty of clothes at the end of the supply chain disguised the destructive process that hide behind a great design and good marketing. In order to get a closer look on these issues and to find solutions, she took undertake the Master Program - Sustainability in Fashion at ESMOD Berlin.

‘’Love is the only sane and satisfactory answer to the problem of human existence.“ - Eric Fromm

Twenty percent of the world’s population can afford to buy a simple H&M T-Shirt costing $4,95. The estimated net worth of this around 185 trillion dollars. To make a sustainable change in the fashion industry we must integrate this market segment, as it is the linchpin of unsustainable consumption behaviour. If we can alter this behaviour, to get the concept of sustainable clothes into the closets and minds of 1.5 billion people, this is big step in the right direction.

I have been developing a fictive capsule collection that showcases how a mass market producers such as H&M could approach this issue. If we can make consumers love their clothes through knowledge and therefore informed choices, they will maybe recover their emotional relationships to the pieces they own and buy. A person who loves a product, handles it carefully.

LOVE.ABLE tries to transmit this concept. It is not the rare product that leads us to new experiences or self-realization, it is love that does it. And with love comes the automatic acknowledgment of responsibility. Therefore, we need to illicit love from consumers and they will eventually start to accept their responsibility.

  5. Pitch videos are a part of every directors job. More often than not the footage is never seen beyond "the pitch". Here are some clips from a pitch video that was unfortunately never awarded...
