  2. I have been infatuated with the story of Steve Prefontaine – his wiliness to win at any cost, his overcoming of seemingly unachievable obstacles, his representing the U.S. in The Olympics, and his way of life and style, coherent with that of the counter-culture/ hippie revolution of the late 1960s/ early 1970s. At the time of making Pre Envy I began running daily due to Prefontaine’s impact on me.

  3. Wes Anderson has been one of, if not the most important post-modernist influence on me as a filmmaker. I explored my appreciate for a saturated palette, set symmetry, surreal characters, and an overall corky-ness in tone as Tomboy’s Imagination dives into the cerebral world of a young child.

  4. A boy and his tree grow up together and are eventually separated. The boy, now a man, finds a way to reunite with the tree he planted long ago. Christmas movies have always held a special place in my filmic appreciation, with It’s a Wonderful Life being my favorite movie. A Charlie Brown Christmas also inspired this film as well as my film style in general.
