1. Letterpress printmaking is a craft and process that involves a lot of heart and soul. In learning this complex process, subconsciously the printmaker enters into a dialogue with the press, each with their own personality, history and unique story to tell.

‘Dispositions’ provides an insight into this unique relationship forged between the printmaker and press. This relationship is ever evolving, frustrating, but extremely rewarding in the end. It is as much about the process as it is about the end result.

  2. Meat/Culture is an animation designed to raise awareness and discussion about cultured meat and its potential benefits in future food development.

We love meat, but the way we produce it is currently unsustainable and unethical. However, cultured meat allows us to grow meat directly from animal cells without facilitating death, using fewer resources.

As this technology is still developing, the animation is not a technical explanation of cultured meat, but rather an introduction to it and a look at why we might consider it in the face of how we currently produce meat.

(Please note the animation contains images that some might find unsavoury)

Created with the help of New Harvest, a non-profit research organization advancing alternatives to conventionally produced meat. Find out more at their website new-harvest.org

  4. This year I completed my Bachelor of Design in Visual Communications with first class honors.
'Liminal' is my 4th year Grad Project.

Who is behind the camera and what happened after the cut? Try to see what exists in the spaces in-between.
‘Liminal’ seeks to explore a new mode of seeing by traversing the edges of reality using video.
Lives recorded, shared and experienced on screen are subject to interpretation... If it is recorded, then it can be edited.
So, is a stylized truth still a truth?
The anecdotes and stories of the 8 participants are honest and frank, but in the edit you see something constructed, something completely contrary to reality. Liminal reveals the visual fault-lines that have, really, always been there.

The film was shot using a rig of 5 cameras filming simultaneously. It was an experimental process which 'tips it's hat' to the 'joiner' portraits of David Hockney. *WATCH IN HD for the FULL EXPERIENCE*

Music composed by the talented Alister Roach. BIG ups to Michelle C. for being an incredible mentor throughout the project.

  5. Vispo is an app that makes reading and interpreting poetry accessible. It is the result of a design research project exploring how visual communication design and screen technology can facilitate interpreting and enjoying texts in ways that printed media cannot afford.

The app can be used as an educational tool in schools or by anyone interested in Poetry.

Within the app is a series of poems each with their own set of visual devices.
These devices illuminate objective language techniques, and in turn, the thematic elements of the poem. Vispo is educational without being didactic, it respects that reading poetry is a personal experience. The visual devices serve as cues to further interpretation, rather than definitive answers.
