  4. WYSE Travel Confederation’s new Director General, Robin Wicks, will open WYSTC 2010 with an overview of the week ahead and the exciting new market opportunities available to inbound and outbound organisations, whether it be in their own countries,
regions, across the world or in China.
Following on from Robin, Mr Qiu Xiaoping will welcome delegates on behalf of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education.

WYSTC’s keynote address by celebrated global trends expert Daniel Levine promises to inspire and encourage delegates to focus on providing meaningful experiences that speak to the values of the youth sector. Daniel possesses an uncanny ability to help travel-oriented brands and consumer-related businesses attract customers and stimulate growth through more relevant, innovative and profitable techniques. He will describe how companies across all industry sectors are finding success by offering
customers the excuses they need to make purchasing and lifestyle decisions. In addition, he will reveal how the same strategies can be used to get closer to customers and, ultimately make more sales.

In conclusion, five leaders from the world of travel and tourism will give their views on current market challenges and opportunities and their outlook for 2011 and beyond.

  5. As globalisation continues apace and local issues take on international significance, business everywhere faces ever-increasing pressure to understand and manage cultural differences. Iways developed BRIDGING the GAPS™ to provide businesspeople at every level with a framework by which to reach that understanding, and tools to enable them to manage those differences.

One of the essential truths behind sustainable commercial success is that people prefer to do business with those they trust. In today’s globalised world that often means building trust with people from entirely different backgrounds and values who interpret situations from completely different perspectives.

This presentation will showcase the learning methodology, explain the behavioural model that underpins successful intercultural interactions, and introduce an analytical framework that will unlock the secrets to achieving interpersonal alignment with Chinese clients, colleagues, employees and suppliers.
