The State of Illinois' exhibit at iBIO 2013 highlighted the state's positive business environment for biotech industries. Four vertical (portrait) plasma monitors were deployed around the booth, and this lively infographic video - produced in Keynote - illustrated Illinois' main "selling points" to the audience, and alternated with daily booth event updates, in a loop.
Just before their meeting—in addition to redesigning all their main-screen graphics—the client decided to add an Opener that filled their entire 99’-wide panoramic three-screen array: a center screen 15' high by 45' wide (3:1), flanked by two 16:9 screens, 15' high by 27' wide. The content was to be the text of their company's Guiding Principles. Typically, this would have been produced in After Effects; but the short turn-around time and budget limitations made that impossible; so I produced it in Keynote. I found a good techno track, edited it down to the necessary duration, strengthened its opening with layers of drones and sound effects, and pumped up the closing hit; then I designed the piece in Keynote, and animated the content to the track.
The result: a worthwhile, powerful opening that took much less time and money to produce than it would have in After Effects.
An even better result: the client commented, "You took something familiar and vanilla, and made it exciting and important."
I've dropped the video into a rendering of the meeting room, just for scale.
