A group of Hugo citizens and good friends of George and Willoughby Hann gather at the First Christian Church on February 20, 1988 to celebrate George's 90th birthday. Only a few in the video are still alive in 2013.
In 1985 Jamie Wolfe and I had brand new Panasonic VHS cameras. We decided to do a two-camera shoot on some of the prominent people of Hugo, Oklahoma, where we both lived at the time. The videos were to be first-hand recollections and impressions of those interviewed. The videos were shot, put away in a box, and they never were touched again until September 7, 2013, the day Jamie died. I searched for hours to find the videos we shot and found 18 cassettes filled with treasures. This is the first of a series to be titled, "Hugo, Oklahoma's PEOPLE OF THE PAST." My plan is to put a similar piece together for each. I sadly regret that Jamie nor any of those interviewed ever saw a frame of these videos.
Ken Brown and Jamie Wolfe go for a run on Christmas Eve, 1985. The video was totally unscripted and spontaneous except for the fact we planned to stop and have a break early in the run. Beer, chocolate, and cigarettes kept us going. Video shot and edited by Ken's son, Kevin Brown.
