Round 14 of the Forward Motion Hare Scramble Championship saw some pretty epic dirt. "The Talk" around the pits was that the course was going to be tough, but should try up by later in the race. Those words held true, as the two hour hare scramble reached the half-way mark, the course came to life. The dirt looked and felt awesome as I walked around the course, it made me want to get back out there and race again....perhaps another day, until then enjoy these videos.
Just realized this never uploaded in HD, Here ya go.
Everyone at Round 12 of the FMHSC saw some of the best conditions of the year. The dirt was perfect, weather was crisp, and racing was on hot.
With the top 3 swapping positions through the first hour and half, it was very interesting to see who would come out on top. With 2012 Champ Macon Ezell and Zack Brawner battling it out of the 2013 Championship, it was only a matter of time they separated themselves from 3rd place rider, Nick Brawner. The overall win came down to the last lap with the top 2 riders basically wheel to wheel, when reports of Macon Ezell smashing into a tree and breaking off his rear brake pedal in the process. Bruised and beaten he soldiered on to finish a respectable 2nd place finish with Nick only a bike length behind.
Zack's overall win meant the Forward Motion Hare Scramble Championship is still very much up for grabs. Macon needs to win at least one of the 2 remaining races in order to secure his first back-to-back Championship. Zack must win out the remaining races for his shot at the Trophy.
Round 13 of the Series is this weekend (October 27th) at Eldorado Springs. More information about the 2013 Championship and other race information along with a forum can be found at fmhsc.com
