Sandra Endo joined a Glass Workshop at Cross Campus in Santa Monica to get a first hand look at how Glass works and what it can do.

Kai Gradert, Product Designer, "It's a piece of hardware you wear on your face. You tap it once and you have a set of commands so you can take pictures, video, and browse the Internet."

It's like having your cell phone attached to your head, the screen is just above your line of sight and you use voice commands to operate it.

I found, if you want to concentrate on what the screen says you really kind of have to close one eye like you're looking through a telescope. It looks like you're looking a postage stamp and everything all the information is just on that little postage stamp.

We asked some people to try it on to see what they thought of the exclusive high tech product still not available to consumers.

Kiarah Aguda, "it's useful, because i could see everything else around me not all my attention is focused on this one piece."

Steven Pearl says, "it's a little too techy for me to walk around with, i still want my ray-bans.

The glass is so new only several thousand are in use right now, during the product test phase. Software developers and industry experts are working to make it even better.

Tech expert, Jaime Levy, "Google Glass is a baby step towards augmented reality which is the idea that where you are you can access information from the Internet but it's overlaid over in front of your vision so you're not looking away from what you're experiencing."

These are all the associated videos to the Google Glass workshop held at Cross Campus on October 30th, 2013. The workshop was conducted by Jaime Levy (Product Strategist) and Cecilia Abadie (Glass Developer).

Description: This 3-hour, hands-on workshop is geared toward digital product designers and digital pioneers who are looking to experiment and play in the sandbox of wearable computing. Note: This is NOT a workshop for developers to geek out on code.

Here's What We'll Cover:
• The distinction between wearable computing and Augmented Reality (AR)
• What the Glass user experience is like TODAY
• Basic overview of the design elements such as the timeline, cards, bundles, and card options
• The process of UX design for Glass for digital designers without access to the product/API
• The best ways to leverage it's unique capabilities

All attendees will get to experience Google Glass for themselves. You may only get to wear them for a few minutes, but there will be a mentor with a Glass assigned to each group of 5-6 people to help increase hands-on time during the design portion of the class.

Here's What You'll Do:
• Work in groups on a cool Glass concept based on both technical feasibility and innovation
• Figure out the user scenarios/flows to identify user interface elements
• Create storyboards/sketches that demonstrate the key user experience
