http://tomedwardsvideo.com presents me, tom edwards, playing an acoustic cover tof the jackson five's "i want you back." it's more of the way K.T. Tunstall plays it -- except she's much better looking than i am.
at some point i'll post a tutorial of it and link to it -- but for now, here's the chord structure
i want you back
these are right handed chords -- i'm a lefty
when i play the opening E, i just do a little rock riff to transition up to the A.
Also, sometimes, rather than do the riff, I simply play the G#m7 (4X444X)
when i jump up to the chorus and play the power chord E (Eno3rd = 079900), I do a run on the bass notes where I simply drop my index finger a half-step -- from an E to an Eb). i keep my pinky and ring finger in the same location, using my middle finger to hit the bass note of C#, my index finger to hit the bass note of B, play the Aadd9 (which is like playing a Barre chord at at the 5th fret without the Barre ((so an open A)), then play the same chord but I use my index finger to hit the bass note of G# (you're just counting down the bass notes from E, Eb, C#, B, A, G# E -- make sense?)
