Established 1921 by Alex Lahtinen, Lahtiset still manufactures felt boots by hand using only 100% natural materials. In August 2013, a small film team ventured into the Finnish forest to document this unique and traditional felt boot making process. http://www.lahtiset.fi

My friend Max and I had an opportunity to shoot with a RED EPIC camera for a day. We wanted to create something unique in the genre of rock climbing. People film the most intense climbers doing the most advanced climbs. In this video we decided to showcase the amateur or beginner, though a moment where he feels accomplished and where he has over come an obstacle. We also chose to overdramatize the film with beautiful visuals and cinematic music. This was not done in a way to poke fun at beginners. It was done to put the everyday person in the roll of a famous climber or a famous athlete. Because we think that everyone who works hard and pushes to achieve their dreams, deserves a moment of fame.
Invented by Garrett Brown in the early 70's, the steadicam shot -- or 'steadishot' -- has become one of the most dynamic and exciting forms of cinematography and is one of the most engaging visual techniques in a filmmaker's storytelling arsenal.
I was inspired to make this homage to the art of steadicam cinematography when browsing the database of "top" clips over at http://www.steadishots.org, which are rated by the community. After locating what sources I could from the top 50 or so, I decided to stick with the order presented on the site (accurate as of March 1, 2013).
While I do hope you enjoy my video, there are many other clips that I was not able to source as well as many great clips that have yet to be rated into the "top" ranks, so please head over to http://www.steadishots.org and show your appreciation for the great service they provide.
