1. inFORM is a Dynamic Shape Display that can render 3D content physically, so users can interact with digital information in a tangible way. inFORM can also interact with the physical world around it, for example moving objects on the table's surface. Remote participants in a video conference can be displayed physically, allowing for a strong sense of presence and the ability to interact physically at a distance. inFORM is a step toward our vision of Radical Atoms: tangible.media.mit.edu/vision/

In movie shooting, the camera moves in and out of different focal depth, directing audience attention to the current speaker. Our eyes behave in the similar way to fade out irrelevant background imagery by adjusting the focal point during face-to-face conversation. In the case of videoconferencing, FocalSpace helps to create natural "focus" effect and break the inherent constraints of a "flat screen".

  3. Pantomime Corporation has demonstrated the first software that lets users of virtual reality headsets reach in and play together in shared virtual worlds.  Users can interact using a smart phone or tablet to reach into 3D worlds, seeing an identical device in their virtual hands through the stereo immersive display.  When multiple users join a world from headsets, tablets, phones and personal computers, they see each others’ virtual heads, hands, devices, and the physically realistic objects they’re all interacting with.

  4. Two people with ordinary iPads and Macs play in a shared virtual world.
Everyone with a mobile device can reach in and interact.
They can all look around 360 degrees -- but nobody needs to wear a headset.
Everyone can see each other and socialize. Everyone can see each others' computers in the scene.
And with no cameras, they can see each others' nimble, animated virtual hands.
In this scene, they're being pursued by aggressive bugs that can grow giant.
Together, they're pushing, touching, throwing, squashing and paddling them in the virtual world.
Consumer Augmented Reality is here – and it's easier, less expensive, and more fun than you ever imagined.
Pantomime Bug Farm is in the App Store and the Mac App Store now.

  5. Pantomime™ offers the first interactive, networked, mobile 3D virtual worlds for consumers – with no need for a virtual reality headset or any new hardware. The apps let any iPad or iPhone user look around and reach into physically realistic first person 3D worlds, using their mobile devices both as immersive 3D viewers and accurate 3D game paddles. Users can see their devices and their nimble, animated virtual hands — through their own screens, in virtual mirrors, and in worlds shared with other users, who can Teleport into the same scene over local WiFi networks. And it's cross platform – you can network to share worlds with any Mac.
Pantomime is available in the iOS App Store and the Mac App Store:
