When Incognito – multicultural purveyors of R&B, soul, funk and dance beats – made their Heads Up debut in the summer of 2008 with the release of Tales from the Beach, the music press immediately raved. JazzTimes called the album “13 soul-drenched, brassy vocal tunes imbued…with positivity.” Jazziz proclaimed that “the hallmarks of this band – swaying rhythms, zesty horn charts and soulful singing – are front and center on every cut.”
As 2009 gets under way, Incognito ups the ante with the January 27 release of More Tales Remixed (HUCD 3165), in which Incognito’s Mauritius-born guitarist/founder/frontman Jean-Paul Maunick – better known to fans worldwide as Bluey – unleashes some of the world’s most prominent DJs on the original tracks. With the help of luminaries like Dimitri from Paris & DJ Meme from Brazil, Brooklyn’s Tortured Soul, UK’s Ski Oakenfull, Germany’s Christian Prommer and many others, More Tales Remixed takes the high energy of the original material and jacks it up even further with infectious, ass-shaking dance mixes.

This Kinetic Typography project was created from the dialogue of Conan O'Brien's final episode of The Tonight Show on NBC. In this farewell address, he describes his feelings towards NBC and the situation at hand. His personality exudes positivity and humor allowing this dialogue to describe his character very well. Even through the hardships of leaving NBC he promotes hard work and kindness.
The concept behind this video is to show Conan O'Brien as the monumental entertainer and solid wall that he is. Conan O'Brien is and will continue to be a seasoned television entertainer. After drawing inspiration from Lou Dorfsman's Gastrotypographicalassemblage, this concept was achieved by creating a literal wall from over 60 individual typographic layouts. These custom crafted layouts reference a variety of eclectic type design. The combination of eclectic typography and modern 3D letter forms achieved in Cinema 4D provides a contrast between old and new. This contrast emphasizes time to create a sturdy and timeless object. This solidity and timelessness is the perfect representation of Conan O'Brien.
This project is a piece of wearable technology created with Arduino and an 8×8 LED matrix by Annelie Koller and Niki Selken. In our quest to program two 8×8 LED matrixes, we wanted to create a piece of wearable tech with blinking eyes. First we thought of glasses that blinked, but after visiting the discount store, we settled on making a Sock Monkey hat with blinking eyes.
