1. NYU ITP Spatial Media class project

    _This is an idea of spatial media experience for New Museum's Skyroom in New York. As this place has a potential to be an expansion of a gallery, 'serendiffiti' helps audiences enjoy creating and sharing a graffiti. The neighborhood buildings which are what people can see from this patio will be a canvas for it.

    Serendiffiti is a mobile drawing app for collective graffiti experience by a technology of markerless AR(Augmented Reality).

  2. Manhattanhenge occurs roughly two weeks before and after the summer solstice. We wanted to create a project that revolved around this timing. All of the sounds come together at the first, become polyrhythmic, and come together 44 days later.

  3. This is the final prototype of our Spatial Media project for ITP, Spring 2013.

    Team: Shilpan Bhagat, Yuliya Parshina, Brett Peterson.

    Description: We are designing a portable, immersive experience for kids confined to their hospital beds and their families. For more information, go to itp.nyu.edu/~yp541/adventure_tent/

    Construction: Wooden frame / paper canvas.

    Technology: We connected a controller driven by an Arduino Leonardo to a Google API to browse Google Street View Collections. The joystick navigates through the environment while the blue button resets the scene to a new Street View. The browser output is fed into an openFrameworks sketch via an ofxAwesomium addon. Using the syphon protocol (ofxSyphon), frames are fed into MadMapper which is used to projection-map onto the square "tent" prototype. Matrox TripleHead2Go (and the Matrox PowerDesk software) is used to connect two projectors to a single computer.

  5. NYU ITP Spatial Media class Midterm project

    Brief (from instructor)

    _ A popular NYC fashion magazine is hosting a party to celebrate 2014 New Years’ eve. The event will begin as a cocktail party until midnight; at the stroke of 12 the lights will go out and DJs will perform. An installation is needed for it, which must do something special at exactly midnight and must go into a heightened “party mode” after 12.
    The event is being held in a plain, 30’ x 30’ x 30’ room.

    So we create a curved wall projection mapping which can be used through all events of the party. For the first event, cocktail party, people can share New Year's resolutions using mobile phone and web app. It will be pop up on the projection wall to celebrate. After countdown, it will be change as an music-sensitive wall for DJ performance and dance party.
