  3. Update: watch the music video I did with it for Flavien Berger's "88888888" with the revolvograph!

Looking at the different ways to shoot videos. Part of a workshop at the RCA led by Rosario Hurtado and Quique Corrales. May 2010.
Instead of making a normal movie, I am trying to get a colour gradient of what the camera is shooting. There is no postproduction involved, the effect is achieved by connecting the lens of the camera to a drilling machine. The video is taking 15 frames per second, whereas the drill is spinning at more than 20 turn per second.

  4. Since December 2011, I have been helping my friend to produce a video for his company. I ended up going to Central on a daily basis to brainstorm ideas and scope out interesting locations for the film.

I became addicted to the extraordinary contrast of old versus new that surrounded me. The buildings, structures and people around me was inspiring.

With this inspiration I created this short time lapse film called "Evolution". I have tried to capture not only Central but our amazing city of Hong Kong through the concept of change.

While filming Evolution, my gh2 was damaged at the Hong Kong container terminal. It was a total disaster! It made getting the film done a real challenge. Lucky for me, my friend let me borrow his spare 5dII. I was really surprised by the DIY Dolly which handled the movement of the heavy 5dII very smoothly. Mission accomplished.

    I hope you enjoy it.

  5. Kuala Lumpur: super-modern buildings juxtaposed with various cultural enclaves and with a little of Asia’s chaos thrown in. My time lapse explores how the city changes from day to night highlighting how spaces dramatically alter during the course of a few hours.

As summarised by Marc Lourdes on Yahoo! Malaysia:

“5 months. 400 hours of solid work. 4 cameras. 40 shoots. 640 gigabytes of data. 19,997 photographs.”
