A video sequence inspired by the language movement I developed in my photographic project "Tension" http://nirarieli.com
In my project I function as a visual choreographer, creating a unique language of movement that is the outcome of a verbal dialogue between the photographed dancer and I. Photography's inherent power lies in its ability to capture a single moment whereas dance captures a series of continuous movements. In my work I try to combine the quintessential essence of these two art forms.
I've spent the past two and a half years traveling to different cities across the world photographing gay men. My goal is to create a platform for these men to share their stories, as well as create a resource that celebrates the diversity of our experience. Here are the first 470 portraits, across forty cities, seven countries, and four continents. SEE THE FULL PROJECT AT: http://www.thegaymenproject.com
