Ann Harter, soprano, is a featured concert soloist in the Boston Northshore area. Ann is classically trained in the technique of bel canto, but she is equally comfortable singing popular music.

Her solo performance credits include Mendelssohn’s “Elijah”. Vivaldi’s “Gloria”, Bach’s “St. John’s Passion”, and Rossini’s “Petite Messe Solonnelle”. In 2006 she sang the Villa Lobos “Bachianas Brasilieras No.5“ and Mozart‘s “Dove Sono“ in the recital, “Moments of Love, A Celebration of Vocal Music” in Newburyport, MA.

In the spring of 2010 she was invited to join the ensemble "Melopoeia" whose members include poets Rhina Espaillat and Alfred Nicol and classical guitarist and composer, John Tavano. They performed a concert of the music and poetry of Federico Garcia Lorca. Ann's love of Brazilian Bossa Nova music is, in part, a result of her family's connection to Brazil. Her grandmother was Brazilian and her father was born in Brazil.

Ann also lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil for a year while she studied at the Escola Panamericana de Arte.
