DitoGear™ Evolution - a multi-axis keyframe-based motion control system for all DitoGear™ equipment.
Thanks to everybody involved in Evolution Beta Testing Program (private) we got invaluable feedback and the software side heads towards the first public release. Hardware-wise the Evolution Interface is already finished and only Firmware Updates are expected.
Evolution Preorders for public beta start on Dec 1st.
As for this video: The rig assembly shot has been created using a special multi-pass live action filming effect.
1. A motion control movement has been designed using keyframe-based interface including 3 axes: dolly, pan and tilt.
2. We have played back the movement multiple times in real time (NO timelapse or stop motion used this time) adding additional items to the rig being filmed.
3. All separate passes have been synchronized in post and edited in one seamless shot (no masking used, just cuts/crossfades between takes).
In order to do this kind of special effects shot you need a 100% accurate and precise motion control system, so that all passes are identical and allow for seamless editing and just a bit of time.

In this demo we are looking at the DitoGear DragonBridge, an 8 Axis interface for DragonFrame by DZED. This break out box allows you to connect any of ditogears products (omnislider, omnihead, lensdrives, etc) and control them via software. DragonFrame is extremely intuitive and very fast to work with.
Though DragonFrame is made with Stop motion in mind it also has a built in timelapse mode allowing for Timelapse shooters to create complex motion control moves with keyframes. It is very easy to visualize and preview exactly what your shot will be.
DitoGear products have a huge advantage in there open nature to work with other systems. You will not be locked into using only one software package. DitoGear is all about integration into various systems, I believe DragonFrame will be the first of those and we can expect to see some other amazing integrated system very soon.
I hope you enjoy the video and would love to answer any questions or just chat this week at the DitoGear InMotion event at NAB 2012, ditogear.com/news/inmotion-nab-2012/ If you happen to be going and can spare a few minutes please stop in and say hello!
