This is the final project for my Time, Motion & Communication class. The theme was 24hrs. To me, 24 hours is a cycle, starting where it began. I based my execution very loosely on this concept of a cycle, where the video starts and ends in a similar fashion. I also attempted to "play" with time, experimenting with freeze frames and time reversals. The nature of AfterEffects allows us to manipulate reality so that we may see movement and time represented in different ways.
Thank you to my awesome and talented dancers for making this project possible!
A big thank you to Abigail Frankola, Adriana Garcia, Andrew Jake Schwartz, Angela Yi, Carter Nelson, Corinne Rockoff, Eli Murphy-Trotsky, Gail Wilson, Grace Lazos, JR Marshall, Katie Cameron, Kevin Chen, Lila Fagen, Taylor Rawley, and Zachary Stuckelman for being in this video. Thank you to everyone else who struggled through my introductory interviews. Thank you to Helen Wang for providing me with a non-student perspective, your thoughts were countlessly helpful.
And mostly, thank you to Dan Boyarski for allowing me the opportunity to create this for my Time Motion & Communication final project. I am pursuing an independent study and funding to make a more extensive video next semester, and am so excited to see where it takes me.
All interviews conducted at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA.
